Thanksgiving is Nov. 27 this year, and with the holiday fast approaching, students at St. Louis High School are looking forward to the festivities, traditions, and most importantly, the food.
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for things people appreciate, and in some cases, students appreciate the food most of all. Freshman Brody Allen says, “The food I’m most excited about is that honey glazed ham, the mac and cheese obviously, green bean casserole, turkey obviously, and the Hawaiian rolls, oh my god. Then the desserts too. Cream puffs, and my family makes this really good peanut butter cake. Then brownies and cookies. I love Thanksgiving.”
At SLHS, students have shared what they are most thankful for on the poster in the office hallway. They have written things like music, family, friends, and even teachers. Junior Bella Patterson expresses, “I’m probably most thankful for my family and friends and how they have helped me over all.”
There are a lot of different traditions during thanksgiving, such as watching football or the Macy’s Day Parade, playing games, or spending time with family and friends. Sophomore Sydney Dickman says, “Every year I go to my family’s house to hang out, eat food, and play games.”
This Thanksgiving, students are looking forward to spending time with their family and friends, expressing their gratitude for the people and things they love, and of course, eating some amazing food.
