Students at SLHS are counting down the days until Christmas break. At St. Louis High School, students are excited to watch their favorite Christmas movies and wrap up the season with a cozy blanket!
Christmas movies have become a very popular Christmas tradition over the years, Bella Patterson said, “My favorite Christmas movie is Christmas Chronicles, my favorite character in the movie is Teddy Pierce because he is so funny.” Whether it’s the magic of Christmas or a holiday romance, Addyson Hale stated her love for Christmas magic by saying, “I love snowdays, and on snow days, I watch Santa Claus with my family while drinking eggnog.”
On the other hand, there is some controversy surrounding sequels to Christmas movies, as Saryn Leonard said, “Home Alone is my favorite Christmas movie, but only the first one because the ones they keep adding get worse every time.” In addition to Home Alone, Brione Maclaren stated, “I like the sequel to Home Alone. I like Christmas in New York and how pretty it is, and how well they showcase it.”
Christmas movies are a staple in kids’ Christmas these days. Lily Wing exclaimed, “My favorite Christmas movie is The Polar Express because it reminds me of childhood memories on Christmas.” Ava Guerrero shared, “My family and I watch Nightmare Before Christmas every year while eating Oreos and milk on our couch.” Overall, Christmas movies remain an important part of the holiday season.
