Ryan Hoyt, a former St.Louis High School student, graduated in 2009 was voted “most likely to never to leave town” and is thankfully here as the new St. Louis baseball coach 16 years later! 16 students signed up at the first meeting Jan. 20, 2025.
Hoyt has been playing baseball in St. Louis since little league, and through his senior year. Hoyt then played two years at the collegiate level. Hoyt will be starting the season with workouts and getting hitting and throwing in.
The official practices start in March. Hoyt stated, “I am most excited to get to know these student athletes. I hope I can make an impact for them on and off the field.” After the season is over, Hoyt plans to work for the St.Louis Little League in the summer. He stated, “ I can’t wait to prepare the kids to be future Sharks and to hopefully play on my team when they are older.”
The team at SLHS is also excited for the new coach. Carson Zacharko stated excitedly, “I am so excited to start this season with a new coach and to learn from his perspective. I am ready to play with the seniors for their last season.” The seniors are also excited for the new opportunities the new coaching staff will bring. Ryder Siefka said, “I feel really good about this new coaching staff. He is just the guy we need for our team.”
