Saint Louis High School students were preparing for their semester exams and all stressing as the semester came to an end Jan. 16. Elliot Turner said, “The scariest exam I am worried about is Pre-calculus, it’s a new curriculum so it’s harder to grasp. The first semester went terribly, and I definitely could have done better.” The students who prepped for the exams were stressed about how to go about it.
Freshman Brody Allen and Saryn Leonard were also very stressed about the exams because it was a lot different and more difficult than their eighth grade year. Allen stated, “It’s kinda stressful and it’s difficult because it’s hard to remember the stuff from the beginning of the year. Algebra was definitely my most challenging. Mostly because I don’t find myself the greatest at math. I think the teachers were the biggest factor to help us pass these exams by giving us the correct study guides and the materials.” Leonard stated that, “Geometry was probably my hardest. It’s definitely different because we have never had them before and they are worth ten percent of our grade, and it makes it stressful.”
In conclusion, the students of SLHS were all prepared for the exams, and now are all relieved and ready to start the last semester of the year. Mack McKinnon stated, “Now that exams are over, it takes away added stress that was on me. I was pretty satisfied with the grades I received on the exams so I will hopefully be repeating the same going into the next semester.”
