Saint Louis High School students hosted Harvest Fest Oct. 24, 2025, at Carrie Knause and Nikkari Elementary schools. Harvest Fest is an event sponsored by FFA, alongside Rotary Interact and National Honor Society. Students spent weeks planning what they would show with the goal of introducing elementary students to the field of agriculture.
One of the most popular parts of the festival was the petting area where kids got to meet and pet farm animals. There was also an apple cider press that showed how fresh cider is made from apples, and everyone loved getting a sample of it. Another big activity was face painting, which added some colorful fun to the day. However, the most memorable activity for a lot of the kids was learning how to milk a cow. It’s not something most kids get to do, so it was a cool hands-on experience. Additionally, the high school students had so much fun.
Kenzie Davidson, the treasurer of FFA, said, “ I felt like it was organized a lot better than last year.” Davidson also said she had so much fun getting to teach the kids about the cider press. Maggie Allen, president of FFA, said, “I think Harvest Fest was a good experience for elementary-aged kids to get experience in agriculture and spend time with high school students for a change.”
Overall, Harvest Fest was a great experience, and it was amazing to see all those big smiles on the kids’ faces.
