St. Louis High School Jazz Band is hosting a concert called Blues in the Night, Nov 22, 2025, at 6:00 P.M., and will be hosted in the high school cafetorium. This concert will be a fundraiser for later events for all SLHS and middle school band classes.
This venue will not only hold the SLHS jazz band, but also the middle school jazz band and the SLHS steel band. To get tickets, people will have to find a poster hung up in SLHS that has a QR code on it. After you do that, it will lead to a website which has a selection of tickets, such as the regular ticket, which is $15 (if you don’t buy a ticket there and buy it at the door it will be $20).
Six tickets will get a table reservation. This includes your own table and a couple gifts from the SLHS and middle school bands. Then there is the VIP ticket, which gets a table with 10 seats. This also includes VIP recognition, and a gift basket from the selected bands.
Most students are very excited about this concert. Kazren LaLone, an SLHS freshman, says, “I’m so excited to play all of the songs we’ve been practicing every day in the zero hour jazz band.” LaLone adds, “We’re playing a mix of classic rock all the way to Marvin Gaye’s I Heard it Through the Grapevine.”
This is also an experience for the crowd as well. Braelyn Post, a past band student and SLHS freshman, says, “Blues in the Night was fun and the lights that were installed made it an immersive experience.” Post also says,“The crowd was also very involved overall. It was just a great experience in general.” There will also be a food bar to eat from since this a fundraiser and dinner concert. There will be SLHS band gear including hats and t-shirts for sale. This concert has at least 250 people that attend so it’s a pretty big deal in the SLHS music world.
