The first Beetlejuice movie came out March 30, 1988, the musical came out April 25, 2019, and the newest movie premiered September 6, 2024.
I am a big fan of both the original Beetlejuice movie directed by Tim Burton and the musical directed by Alex Timbers. Though I haven’t watched the second movie called Beetlejuice Beetlejuice directed by Tim Burton, I’m sure his work lives up to his first movie of the striped demon. With all the tricks up the sleeves of the trickster, everyone will be up for scary-good pranks and frightening scares.
Not everyone yet has seen the newest addition of the Beetlejuice movies. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, follows Lydia’s daughter played by Jenna Ortega, and the original actor for Beetlejuice Michael Keaton plays Beetlejuice. It was only released earlier this month, but almost everyone has seen the original movie, and it’s a cult classic!
Senior Kaydence Heiden says, “I think the first movie was awesome. It had a great plot to it and kept my interest the whole time. Although I haven’t seen the second movie yet, I saw the trailer and it looks almost better than the first movie. I’m really excited to watch it and see if it’s as good as the first one.” The new movie has been met with good reviews from watchers so far. The work of Tim Burton has entertained many for years and will most likely keep everyone entertained for more years to come.
The musical for Beetlejuice stars Alex Brightman as Beetlejuice and Sophia Anne Caruso as Lyida. The musical takes the show and adds a Broadway flair. The musical kept the same spark of the movie. Senior Alex Tatroe says, “I really enjoyed the musical! I think when it came out, I knew it was going to do wonderful things. Now with the movie out, I can’t wait to see it on the big screens whenever I’m not busy.” Many are putting on his or her green wigs and black and white striped suits to go see the movie with the Beetlejuice spirit.
Beetlejuice and Lydia will most likely be the costume to wear this year’s Halloween. The movies have die hard fans who are ready to dress as his or her favorite characters.
