The first bowling practice for St. Louis High School students is coming up Thursday, Nov. 14 2024 and it will be held at Pins in Ithaca by Coach Shannan Mitchell.
Bowling is a winter sport that consists of boys and girls. This year the coach is Shannan Mitchell, a former SLHS student. Mitchell has experience with bowling and even bowled a 300 while she was still in high school. She has been working on setting up practice times and keeping her team updated. “I am hoping to have practice days and times posted soon! In the meantime for parents and bowlers, they can join our Remind group by using the code: stlbowl24,” she stated.
A lot of students are looking forward to this bowling season. One student in particular is Elliot Turner. Turner is a sophomore and this is her second year bowling. “I am really looking forward to the matches. It’s always really cool meeting and becoming friends with the students from other schools,” Turner said, “I joined bowling because Devine Fransisco told me they needed more girls and begged me to do it, so I eventually gave in, and to be honest it was the best decision ever.”
Another student who is excited for the bowling season is Jayden DuBois-Kleinhans. DuBois-Kleinhans is a senior at SLHS, however, he is a first year bowler. “I am mostly excited for the matches, and bowling with my friends during practice. I really want to have a good time,” DuBois said, “I joined bowling because I have always wanted to bowl, but I didn’t because I was playing basketball. I just wanted a place to have fun with friends while also being a little competitive,” he added.
