St. Louis High school students, as well as all of the citizens of the town, were able to rejoice as local ice cream parlor Frosty Cone opened Monday, April 1, as the spring season has officially begun.
Frosty Cone has been an icon of the town for many years, and it’s a smash success during the summer season. At any given time, one can see plenty of cars lined up around the building, and a good line of people at the walk-up counter. Moreover, the restaurant’s ideal location right across from the pool makes it the perfect place to grab a sweet treat during the summer season.
Frosty Cone has been the perfect place for students to grab a bite to eat now that it has reopened, being within walking distance of the school. Not only is it the perfect place for students to get something to eat, it’s also the perfect place for students to get a summer job!
For some, like senior Dominick Girard, working at Frosty Cone is an annual tradition. The senior has worked at the local restaurant for two years, and the upcoming season will be his third working there. Regarding the business, Girard shared, “I would say working at Frosty Cone is a very fast-paced and exciting place to work. You’re able to joke around with your friends while still getting ice cream to our customers.”
Of course, Frosty Cone is always open to hiring new employees as well! Sophomore Trinity Bergey recently had her first day working at the ice cream parlor, right on opening day. “My first day was great, I was mostly being trained by others,” she shared. “Everyone was super helpful and nice to me, and working there is definitely fun.”
“I’m definitely thrilled for the season this year,” exclaimed Girard. “One of my favorite things is seeing my regulars there!”
With the weather (hopefully) getting warmer soon, many students will flock to the local icon in order to get many ice cream treats. With the weather clearing up and the sun shining, it won’t be too uncommon to see the student body enjoying a delicious ice cream cone.
