The St. Louis Cross Country team ran Tuesday Oct. 9, at St. Louis Hidden Oaks Golf Course hosting the last TVC West Jamboree. Both the boys and girls ran fast times and did very well with rough condition, a hilly course, and tough competition. Despite the hot weather and tough course, everyone pushed through with great times and placements, resulting in both girls and boys getting first and winning the TVC West Championship.

On the girls side, Libby Munderloh came in second overall with a time of 20:13.31, Mikenna Borie followed up behind with 20:44.16 coming in third place, and Brooklyn Filipiak came in hot holding fourth place with a time of 21:47.78. Next up was Mikaila Borie running in seventh and finishing in 22:11.23, and Sela Delgado supported us with a time of 23:51.10 coming in 12th.

For the boys’ side, Joe Erickson came in third with a time of 18:46.13, Nate March ran in with a whopping 19:16.54 finishing in fifth, following behind was Aaron Bowerman (19:19.95) in sixth,  Austin Aldrich with a time of 19:23.26 was seventh, and Austyn Rhines came in strong with 19:30.43 taking eighth place!

Reyna Rojas stated, “For the weather being absolutely horrendous and the course being super hilly and horrible, I think everyone did such a good job! We were mentally tough and physically tough enough to get through all of it. I mean, come on, both teams won so that’s gotta say something.” Mikaila Borie added, “I think our team fought hard in that race- especially the boys. Knowing that everything was on the line, each one of them pushed for the win against Ithaca. The girls also raced well giving everything they had. Both teams earned the win. Everyone raced great despite the conditions and I’m proud of everyone and excited to see what else our teams can do as the season comes to an end.”

All in all, St. Louis has been doing extremely well this season and has been growing everyday and still continues to grow as a team. Varsity girls and boys will be racing bright and early Saturday morning on the 12th.
