The St. Louis varsity girls’ golf team took first out of nine teams at the Chippewa Hills Pines Invitational Sept. 27.

Invite Champion, Alexis Beeson, said, “Our team is really starting to come together and hopefully we just keep improving until the regional outing. Having five medalist come out of an outing is a super huge achievement for the team as well as having the top three medalist be apart of our team too.”

After taking home their second first place plaque of the season, the team was ecstatic. The girls overall shot a 391 with five individually placing in the top 10. Beeson was the overall invite champion and shot a 95. Following close behind was Allison Taipalus who took second place by shooting a 96. Modestie Hitchcock also finished third individually by shooting a 97. Olivia Anderson and Skylar Rodriguez tied for eighth by shooting a 103.

Coach Biehl was very pleased with their performance and was excited to be a part of this championship team. “This was a huge confidence booster for the team. Alexis Beeson bounced back from a few rough scores from the past couple outings and pulled through for our team and came out on top. The girls have been shooting some of their best scores lately and have been coming out on top. The team is starting to peak and I am hoping we keep peaking for conference and regional play, ” said Biehl.

The girls will compete at their last Tri-Valley Conference outing on their home course, Hidden Oaks Wednesday Oct. 3, where league placings will be decided.
