English teacher Mrs. Kaiser welcomed a new member to her family on September 25. His name is Theodore.

Theodore weighed 6 pounds 5.5 ounces, and was born at 10:34 am. He came 10 days early. Mrs. Kaiser was expecting him to come early, but was still a little surprised. She wanted to do preparation at home and in the classroom. She commented, “I am happy I did not go into labor during school, so everything ended up working out okay.” He is healthy and doing very well. She wishes she could bring him into the school, but understands that schools are full of germs, especially in the fall.

Mrs. Kaiser misses the students and her co-workers. She wishes she could share this big adventure with everyone, but knows she must keep herself and little Theo safe. She was sad to miss homecoming, but still came to the parade to show her support. She misses everyone and is trying to find small ways to be involved while she is gone.

This is a big change for Mrs. Kaiser, since it is her first child. She feels overwhelmed, but is trying to take it one day at a time. It’s very emotional and she tried to prepare herself as much as, possible but you can only prepare so much for a huge change like that. Her whole schedule has changed. Her life revolves around Theo and his feeding now. Her schedule will continue to change as he grows and when she comes back to school. The hardest part for Mrs. Kaiser is finding a balance between Theo’s needs, her needs, and other people’s needs. Does she sleep when he does or does she get stuff done well she has free time?

There was a lot of thought that went into the name behind Theodore. Mrs. Kaiser didn’t want a simple name but wanted it to be unique. She also likes names that can have nicknames. Theodore was the only name she and her husband could decide on. With Mrs. Kaiser gone, Mr. Kuhn will be taking over her classroom. Mr. Kuhn has a big heart for English and is excited to be teaching it again.
