The Varsity Lady Sharks golf team competed outstandingly in their final TVC competition Sept.28 at Twin Oaks.

The whole team scored very well, ultimately coming in first place for the Tri-Valley Conference meet. This final Jamboree was hosted by Freeland. Not only did the team have success, but many of the individual golfers came away with All-Conference honors.

Junior Josie Schrot led her team finishing in first place for the Tri-Valley Conference. Junior Natalee Hoyt placed third, followed by Emma Worthy finishing in sixth. All three ladies earned first team All-Conference.

Coach Andrea Biehl said, “ Yesterday’s final conference jamboree was cold and windy. We haven’t played in cold temperatures yet this season so it was a good experience to have before regionals.”

Hoyt stated, “ As a team we won the TVC-10 for a second year in a row, which was pretty exciting! Along with that, three of our golfers were All-Conference! We finished out the conference season, strong, and are hoping to qualify for states this Thursday!”

The Sharks have now won two consecutive TVC titles, which is the first time in school history that this has happened!

The ladies are rounding out their season and will be competing at their Regional meet Thursday Oct. 6 at the Mt. Pleasant Country Club. If the team places in the top three teams, they will advance to the state meet at Forest Akers golf course Oct. 14-15. The top three individuals from the regional meet will also advance to the state competition.
