After its release on May 23, 2012, Kiloo and SYBO games’ Subway Surfers enjoyed massive success, becoming the most downloaded mobile game across the globe in 2017. In doing so, it won the hearts and minds of millions of influential kids. With its bright visual style and fast-paced gameplay, it grabs the ears and eyes and refuses to let go.

The plot is that the player-character is caught vandalizing private property and has to outrun the police along the way, collect coins and tokens to unlock new characters, attain power-ups, and change locations as the game progresses. It gets harder as the game speeds up.

St. Louis High School Senior Allison Onstott, the current record holder for the highest score at two million, said that she was in elementary school when she downloaded the game for the first time and picked it up again during COVID-19’s first assault on humanity. She got the high score record because she was bored. She went on to say that she thinks the game is very fun, and she plans to beat her record soon.

Another Subway Surfers player, Korah Honig, said, “I love Subway Surfers. I played it when I was a kid.”
