The St. Louis guys’ and girls’ cross country teams shut out the competition Tuesday Oct. 11, in their final conference meet.

The teams have gone undefeated in their conference meets this year. Last year the guys’ team lost their conference streak in the 2020 by dropping two meets to the Ithaca Yellow Jackets and barely beat them in the third meet. This year, both the guys and girls have gone undefeated in all their conference meets. Coach Jay Puffpaff stated, “Bringing home a conference championship is a tremendous accomplishment and coming home with a sweep of the conference jamborees shows the consistency and growth throughout the season.

The guys team had all top five of their varsity runners receive first team all conference honors, as did the top five individual girls. Ben March who took second in the conference stated, “The meet was super spicy. I was especially proud that I beat my brother and the number one runner Aaron Bowerman.” For the boys, first team all conference honors went to Ben March, Aaron Bowerman, Nate March, and Thomas Zacharko. Dylan Marr and Colin Kuhn were second team. For the girls, Libby Munderloh, Mikenna Borie, and Jaiden Dickman were all first team. Receiving second team all conference for the girls was Sela Delgado, Monica Borie, and Jenna Abell. In addition, Payton Kuhn received an honorable mention.

In the final race specifically, the top five for the guys were Ben March who had a time of 17:16, Nate March with a time of 17:32, Aaron Bowerman with a time of 18:01, Dylan Marr with a time of 18:20, and Landon Pestrue who ran a time of 18:24.
