St. Louis varsity football competed against the Valley Lutheran Chargers Friday, Sept. 24, and the Sharks dominated the field and took a 42-7 win.

The sharks started off exploding, with Ben Dousuah on a 3-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He would later go 16 yards for another score.

Senior Braden Ball stated, “I think this game gave not only some players but the whole team better experience. This game brought out the full potential of our team as a whole and it’s fun to see what this team can really accomplish.”

The Sharks didn’t hold back as they ended the first half strong at 35-0.

Senior Reece Giles stated, “It was exciting to watch our team dominate in different ways throughout the game. This team wasn’t a huge challenge for us, but we still worked hard and played our best to beat them.  I think this is a step forward for the harder games that are coming up in the season.”

Ignatius Jackson also had scores from 31 and 3-yards out while Freshman Genaro Soto added a 16-yard TD run.

Soto had a big night with 107 yards on 15 carries while Dousuah had 93 on seven carries.

Jackson also had 87 yards on eight carries.

The Sharks next compete against rival Ithaca Friday, Oct. 1.
