The St. Louis lady Sharks enjoyed their golf outing at the Ithaca Junior Varsity Invitational Sept. 21, 2021.

The ladies had a tough day out on the green because it had been raining all day and the terrain was deteriorating. As coach Andrea Biehl stated, “This was the last opportunity for our JV team to golf for the season. The girls showed a great deal of improvement. Golfing in the rain can be challenging, especially when it is cold out, but I am proud of their efforts last night.”

The ladies had a great meet despite the conditions. They tried their hardest in the weather knowing it would be their last opportunity to golf for the year. As Emma Worthy stated, “I was really excited because I got my first medal of the year and in addition to that I parred one hole” Unfortunately, for the lady Sharks they placed last as a team. However, Emma Worthy was able to make the podium that day by placing eighth overall earning herself a medal.

The top four girls for the day were Emma Worthy with a score of 55, Lillie Shattuck with a score of 76, Olivia Good with a score of 73, and Rachel Jewel took the last scoring place for the team with a score of 82. The teams’ overall score for the day was 286.  Lillie Sahttuck stated, “I was sad because it was the last one, but there is always next year.” The junior varsity members will not be participating in any of the future golf outings. Fortunately, no junior varsity members will be graduating this year and all of them are excited to return and golf again next year. The varsity team will be competing in Freeland for the Baynes Fall Classic which will be held thursday Sept 23.
