Take a closer look at Adele’s impressive music career

Adele is a famous singer and songwriter who has won multiple Grammy awards and has sold over millions of albums worldwide. She recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of her second album named 21 that came out in 2011. 

The album included smash hit singles such as “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You”. Upon its release, 21 topped the charts in more than 30 countries and became the world’s best-selling album of the year in both 2011 and 2012. In the UK it is the best-selling album of the 21st century and the fourth best-selling album of all time. It was the follow-up to Adele’s debut, 19, which was also released to critical acclaim in 2008. 

“It’s crazy how little I remember of what it was like and how I felt a decade ago. But thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting us into your lives and letting me be a soundtrack to some of it,” Adele said. 

The album also cemented Adele several Guinness World Records and in the U.S. certified platinum 14 times by the RIAA, The Recording Industry Association of America is a trade organization that represents the recording industry in the United States, having sold 14 million copies to date.
