This year has brought a lot of changes to the St. Louis Public Schools’ faculty positions. Specifically, many teachers have been moved to different teaching positions. This includes Mr. Kuhn who was moved from freshmen English to history. After he moved to history, a new student teacher was introduced, Mr. Kreider. Mr. Kreider is a student at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He is majoring in secondary education, history, and speech education. Mr. Kreider would like to be a history teacher in the near future.

Mr. Kreider has other goals for his future as well. He not only wants to teach history but also drama as well. According to him, “I would love to coach football …  I would also like to teach drama.” The reason that he wants to teach drama and coach football is because he played football and ran track in high school as well as participated in drama in high school. He went to Mt. Pleasant High School and graduated in 2014. As well as doing drama in high school, he also worked for Central Michigan University productions. However, sadly, this extracurricular was canceled due to Covid-19 in March.

Originally, Mr. Kreider wanted to teach at a larger school, but after coming to St. Louis to student teach, he feels like a small school is a good fit. Kreider said, “I wasn’t excited to come here at first, but it is a lot easier to get to know people… like if I saw you in public I would recognize you.” Now he imagines himself better-suited teaching at smaller to mid-size schools in Mid-Michigan.

Even though Mr. Kreider is a Libra, He doesn’t believe in astrology as many people at St. Louis do. Lillie Thayer, an avid astrology believer thinks that Mr. Krieder represents the Zodiac well. Thayer said, “I think Mr. Kreider definitely seems like his sign, a Libra.”

Kreider is also is a very strong Green Bay Packers fan, and because of that, he was very disappointed when they didn’t make it to the Superbowl. His favorite evening would be watching the Packers win while eating steak. According to him, “My whole family are Packers fans, I have been a Packers fan since I was growing up.”
