Hubie Halloween should stay in 2020

Do you ever look at someone and wonder, “what is going on inside that head of theirs?” because that is exactly what I was thinking when watching the monstrosity that is Hubie Halloween.

Hubie Halloween is written, produced, and starred by Adam Sandler. It is a Halloween mystery/comedy about the town idiot, played by Adam Sandler, who starts to notice some things happening around the town of Salem, Massachusetts. He then takes it upon himself to investigate and save the town.

One of the things that I liked in the film was the cast. The cast for the film is filled with great names like Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Ray Liotta, and Peyton List. Also, the film has an underlining message about bullying and being yourself. Another thing I enjoyed and appreciated about the film was that in the end, it gave tribute to Cameron Boyce; a young actor that lost his life. Cameron worked with Adam in previous movies such as Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2.

On the other hand, there were a lot of pieces of the film that left me unsatisfied and disappointed. For example, there were multiple paths that introduced people as suspects that just didn’t lead anywhere. On top of that, all the jokes were not funny at all. Throughout the film, I found myself rolling my eyes more than I should have. Youtube film reviewer, Jeremy Jahns said, “I’m not gonna go out of my way to watch it again.”

Adding to that, the plot itself was just boring, it is a plot we all have seen many times. Furthermore, the love interest in the film was completely unbelievable. It just didn’t make sense why the love interest had any particular liking for the main character.

All in all, the film lacked everything that could have made it decent, but it did have a good underlying idea of being yourself. In my opinion, this film isn’t even worth the space it takes up on Netflix.
