SLHS freshmen stress out over their first semester exams.

Saint Louis High school freshmen went into their first exam week Thursday, Jan. 16, and Friday Jan. 17, 2020. They began their week by continuously doing reviews and studying. Toward the end of the week, the stress levels increased rapidly.

Many of the freshmen went through a rough time throughout the week, including freshmen Phoenix Shaw. Shaw said, “I thought it was going to be harder than it was, but I should have studied a lot more.” She added that her easiest class was United States History and her hardest were Spanish and English.

Helena Garza also thought that the exams were going to be harder than they actually were. Garza said, “The easiest exams were History, Art, and Spanish. My hardest class was Geometry.”

Alianna Vera-Carillo said, “Geometry was the hardest because I don’t understand it very well. Health was the easiest because it was yoga. I’d say the hardest part was the stress.” Carillo added that she thought it would be more stressful than it was.

As the year continues, hopefully the freshmen use all of the work, quizzes, notes, and tests to their advantage to continue to learn and understand the curriculum to get ready for the next exams at the end of the year.
