St. Louis High School held an assembly wrestling dual meet against the Shepherd Bluejays Wednesday, Dec. 18, in the Shark Tank. The meet was held during the end of the school day so the whole student body was able to go cheer on their classmates.

The assembly had a lot of student participation, such as the pep band and poms teams performing. Additionally, Business Professionals of America opened concessions to sell snacks to students. The meet was a success and caused a major boost in morale for the students of SLHS before heading into Christmas Break.

Unfortunately, the Sharks lost the match 43-24. However, many matches were quite competitive, and the team was in the dual to the very end. Match winners included: Justice Onstott, Ean Bradley, Alex Newton, Lochlan O’Boyle, and Gavin Giles.

Chloe Baxter shared, “Gavin Giles had an amazing take-down that had the whole crowd screaming and increased the excitement of the meet.”

Libby Munderloh said, “I learned a lot about wrestling from the meet, and I thought it was really exciting to watch Mr. Kuhn coach his wrestlers.”
