Kohen Sprague, a junior at St. Louis High School recently found a good use for the mysterious televisions installed in all the High School Hallways: playing video games.
A short time ago, the television had no use, but that changed thanks to Sprague’s idea. “It’s really easy to use the TV,” he explained. “All you need to do is hook up something with an HDMI. Any port will do. Just unplug the food menu, and you should be good to go. Anyone can use the TV, not just me,” he added.
Sprague said the idea first came to him during Open House Night. “The moment I saw a TV, I knew I had to be the first one to do so,” he said.
Now Sprague uses the TV regularly: “I use it every morning during the week and in the afternoon on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the junior hallway,” he said. “I can’t use it on Tuesday or Thursday, since I have CTE,” he further explained.
Sprague also welcomes other students to play with him: “Anyone can join. It just has to be four players,” he said. “If they want to play with me, all they have to do is ask. Johnny Rodriguez, my best friend, plays with me all the time.”
His best friend Johnny Rodriguez said, “It gives the TV a better use than letting it sit around and collect dust. This year they played Mario Cart, Mario Wonder, and Mario 3D world so far and more may follow.”
Rodriguez also added, “It is a good opportunity to spend time with friends and just have fun together.”
In fact, whether people want to play with Kohen or plug in a console themselves because of Sprague’s great idea, the TV’s are being used and everybody who uses them has fun.
