The St. Louis junior varsity baseball team split two games against the Montabella Mustangs in a home doubleheader Saturday. The first game was another walk-off victory for the Sharks 7-6, while the second game was an upsetting loss 8-7.

The first game by the third inning, was knotted up 3-3. The game continued with the Sharks and the Mustangs trading runs, and then in the bottom of the seventh, Joe Good was on second base and Austin Marsh stepped up to the plate. Marsh cracked a shot to center field, and Good heaved himself around to home plate for another walk-off victory for the Sharks.

Good stated, “It was a crazy coincidence, and I was a little nervous because I had to run really fast and I didn’t think I was going to make it.”  Good was referring to a previous Sharks’ victory where Marsh played hero driving him in.

The second game was close-knit with the score being 5-5 in the fifth inning. Everything was going well until small mistakes crept up and cost the Sharks greatly. The Mustangs scored three runs straight and the Sharks could only afford two more in their failed comeback attempt.
