Passwords are starting to become a problem for both students and teachers alike at St. Louis High School.
Lately, students and staff have been struggling with the new rules and regulations when it comes to passwords. Many are claiming it is too difficult or annoying to keep having to change passwords over and over again just for the possibility of the password being leaked or hacked.
Junior Leia Firmin stated on this, “Recently passwords have been really irritating to use. I really hate how I keep having to verify as a human like 5-8 times before I can log in, and even after that, I still don’t have enough verification to check my account.”
Even though many are having a hard time, some people are trying to look on the bright side of things. “I have no problems with my passwords, but I made lots of passwords just because I keep on forgetting,” stated junior Skylar DuBois-Kleinhans, “The two-step verification is actually very useful and provides safe protection on passwords. I really hope they enhance it in some way, but overall, I think it’s fine.” The main issue still stands, as stated by DuBois, “I believe the companies are just rude about passwords, and yeah, I get that you need a code in your password but still, it’s annoying and the companies should really stop.”
The staff at SLHS have also seen their fair share of password issues. Mr. Kuhn stated, “I am always having trouble with passwords. I keep having to change passwords left and right. I have so many passwords and each one needs a certain requirement to change it. I think the security of my passwords is my responsibility and if someone gets my information and uses it, they better be ready because I will come get them.”
Passwords can be very annoying, but overtime as the companies fix their mistakes, this issue might fix itself in the future.
