Homecoming week is coming up fast at Saint Louis High School, and the dance is Sept. 14. People are now scrambling to find the best way to ask someone to go to homecoming with them, and as always, creativity comes into play.
One of the big things leading up to the homecoming dance is asking people to go with them, then worrying about if the way they are going to ask is a good enough idea or if it is a really bad idea. Junior Hayden Shattuck said, “I think the best HOCO proposal would be when you make a poster for them and go somewhere public and ask them.” Shattuck also added, “It also has to be at least a little embarrassing and should have some type of inside joke with it too.”
Another student, sophomore Courtney VanAlstine She said, “I think the best HOCO proposal would be after watching her or him in a sport, then once they walk out of the locker room you’re standing there with the poster.” VanAlstine also added, “I believe doing it when he or she is not expecting would be the best.”
Finally, sophomore Grace Devine commented on what she thinks the worst HOCO proposal would be. She said, “I think that the worst HOCO proposal would be doing it over the phone.” Devine also added, “If the guy doesn’t have the guts to do it in person, then it’s not worth it.”
Homecoming week and the HOCO dance overall sounds like it is going to be amazing, and no matter how you get asked or how someone asks you, or even if you don’t get asked, it will be a fun night!
