Varsity Baseball goes to extra innings

The St. Louis Varsity baseball team competed against Sacred Heart at home last night April 3. The first game was very high-scoring, with the Cardinals winning 8-7. The game went into the 8th inning! However, St. Louis came out strong the second game to come out on top 5-1.

Logan Koutz shared, “We worked really hard and went into extra innings where we continued to battle, but we came up short. Then, our bats finally came alive last night, and we won the second game. We just need to cut down on the little mistakes.”

This was just the Sharks’ third night of games, so they have plenty of time left in the season to fix mistakes. Blake Siefka stated, “I think we worked hard. Our hitting wasn’t amazing, but we’re definitely improving. That was one of the best games we’re probably going to play this year.”

The team is currently sitting on a 2-3 record. St. Louis’ next game will be April 11 at Harrison High School.
