The boys’ and girls’ Track teams competed May 12, 2023, at the Alma Track Invite, and the boys placed 11th and the girls placed 10th. There were many personal bests on both sides throughout the evening. 

Ben March placed sixth in the mile with a personal best of 4:42.66. Landon Pestrue placed third in the two-mile with a time of 10:14.31. Trenton Farkas placed fifth in high jump with a jump of five foot six inches. 

On the girls’ side, Natalee Hoyt placed ninth in the 100-meter with a personal best of 13.43 seconds. Mikayla Hagg ran a personal best in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.73 seconds. Jaiden Dickman placed sixth in the 800-meter with a time of 2:31.23. In the mile, Abby  Dice ran a PR of 6:16. 13. Jaiden Dickman placed first in the mile with a time of 5:16.98. Natalie Lemert  placed fourth in the two-mile with a time of12:55.06. Natalee Hoyt placed second in the pole vault with a vault of 9’6” inches. 

  Junior Ben March said, “Individually, I think I performed very well with a new PR in the mile and 400, and I am getting really close to goals that I had coming into the season. As a team, I think that we performed very well despite the heat and were still able to see many personal bests on the day.” 

  Junior Kylie Acker said, “I did okay on Friday, but I’m hoping to improve this week, so I can put out my best mark at regionals. As a team, I think we did well. There were tons of prs and we came to compete.” 

The Sharks also competed May 10, 2023, at the Tri Valley Conference Championship meet. The oys took sixth place and the girls took fourth. The girls finished just three points behind Bullock Creek. 

March placed fourth in the mile with a 4:51.66 and Landon Pestrue placed fifth with a 4:56.62. Landon Pestrue also placed first in the two mile with a 10:16.91, and March took second with a 10:17.25. The boys’ 4×8 team took third with a 9:05.34. Trenton Farkas got third in high jump with a jump of 5’8”inches. 

On the girls side, Hoyt took fifth in the hundred with a 13.60. Bethany Bowerman had a personal best in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:16.06. Jaiden Dickman won the 800-meter dash, mile, and two mile respectively. Lillie Shattuck placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time 19.33. Lily Massaway took fifth in 300-meter hurdles with a time of 54.00. The Girls’ 4×8 placed second with a time of 11:17.70.

The Sharks will be competing again May 27, 2023, at the regional meet at Chesaning High School.
