St. Louis guys’ and girls’ cross country teams dominated at the Alma Scottie Invitational

The St. Louis guys’ and girls’ cross country teams dominated at the Alma Scottie Invitational hosted by Shepherd,  Friday Oct, 22.

Beating out all the competition, both teams finished first in their races. Both teams were elated with their success, as was their coach Jay Puffpaff, who stated, “It was a great way to cap off the regular season. On the day, we had numerous personal bests.” This meet was the last regular season meet from here on out begins the championship phase of the season, meaning junior varsity members official seasons have ended. Fortunately, for the junior varsity members there will be one more opportunity for them to race as unattached from the team. This is the P.R.O.M. race which stands for: Post-Regional Open Meet. Very excited for the opportunity to run once more his senior year Craig Bebow stated, “ I am ecstatic for this great opportunity to drop a final fat PR.”

Top five for the boys’ team that meet was Ben March who ran a 16:23, Nate March who ran 16:27, Aaron Bowerman who ran a 16:45, Dylan Marr who ran 17:21, and Landon Pestrue ended up fifth for the boys. The top five for the girls’ team was Libby Munderloh, Mikenna Borie, Jaiuden Dickman, Sela Delgado, and fifth for the girls was Monika Borie. Personal records for the day were: Ben March, Nate March, Dylan Marr, Conner Daniels, Alex Baxter, Hunter Salladay, Dylan Luft, Jaiden Dickman, Sela Delgado, and Natalie Lemert. Seasonal record holders were, Libby Munderloh, Mikenna Borie, Monika Borie, Jenna Abell, Payton Kuhn, Walker Aldirich, Dominic Gilman, and Demetrius Alspaugh.

In addition, to these amazing feats all the girls who participated medaled. Medalists for the guys included the top five, Thomas Zacharko, Colin Kuhn, and Crag Bebow. The next race the Sharks will be competing at is the Regional meet at Delta College, on Oct. 30.
