
The St. Louis boys’ and girls’ track teams were both in action Saturday May 10, 2025, in Pinconning for the Jack Pine Conference final meet.
The boys’ team came in eighth on the day out of 12 teams while the girls’ team came in ninth out of 12 teams.
Even with the struggles to score points, the team had some individual PR’s. On the boys’ side there were quite a few PRs on the day. Maddox Cline ran a PR in the 100-meter dash where he ran a time of 13.10. Gavin Yarnell had a PR in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.30 and in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.51. Hayden Shattuck had a PR in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.93. Another PR on the day came from Ross Pavlik in the shot put where he threw 41-07.5. Merrick Bartlett had a PR in the discus where he threw 117-08.
Hayden Shattuck, a junior on the shark track team said, “Being able to PR in the 400 at the final conference meet felt really good, especially seeing that I finished in the top 10 and knowing that I still have a whole year to grow and get faster.”
On the girls’ side of things there were a few PRs with the first one coming from Molly Rule who ran a 15.09 in the 100-meter dash. Abby Dice had a PR in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:57.30. Another PR for the girls was Trinity Bergey who ran a time of 20.04 in the 100-meter hurdles. Tess Farkas broke the school record in discus again with a throw of 126-03.
Bergey, a junior on the track team said, “It felt good to finally be able to come back to hurdles after taking a long break and still being able to PR.”
Both boys’ and girls’ track teams will be back in action Thursday May 15, 2025, at Bath high school for the regional championships.
