The St. Louis High School varsity softball team kicked off the week with a double header against Beaverton. May 5. The girls played hard in both and came out with wins in both games, the first by the score of 7-1 and the second by the final score of 13-0.
Junior Halle Hoyt stated, “The games went good. We played well as a team, and Paige pitched really well. I think I did pretty good. It helps when everyone is doing very well.” Hoyt then said, “Overall I didn’t hit as well as I could have, so I just have to work on that a little bit more.”
Another player, senior Brynn Saxton commented, “The two games went really well. The team had a lot of energy both games which made it really fun. We rarely had any mistakes and Paige and Olivia dominated on the pitching mound.” Saxton then added, “The team can improve for upcoming games by just staying positive during the whole game and fixing those tiny mistakes made during big moments. The team can also improve by being ready to put the ball in play when needed.”
Olivia Brown stated, “I did pretty well. I could clean up on some of my fielding during games.” She then added, “I look forward to the energy my team brings in the upcoming games and how they’ll make the games fun.”
Overall, It sounds like the varsity team had two great games and was very satisfied with how they all played. The girls are back in action again Thursday, May 8, at home against Harrison. The girls are ready to take on Harrison and get the win.
