
The mock election votes have been cast and revealed for the class of 2025 during a senior lunch April 29, 2025.
Weeks ago, the senior class chose from 21 categories to choose from for whomever they felt fit the label best from approximately 50 students. The winning students will have their photos taken and placed in the yearbook.
There’s always students who go above and beyond when it comes to Shark pride. Bethany Bowerman and Sawyer Wonch came out as the top of the shark pride tank.
Classes go in a distinct order, but Olivia Bartlett and Ramen Frye were chosen to have flipped the script and completed the biggest change.
Marriage is on many’s bucket list, though Elizabeth Burt and Genero Soto have been voted to be the first in their graduating class to be married first to their partners.
Drama follows everyone and is a staple of high school. Therefore, seniors Zoey Clarke and Justin Rodriguez are the king and queen of drama.
Bringing home a date to meet the parents is the scariest feeling. Though if you want the best reaction, bring home Abby Dice or Landon Pestrue, voted best to bring home.
Everyone loves when the teacher forgets about homework, giving students more time to play the newest game. It’s been decided Morgan Leonard and Maddox Cline would be the teachers pet and tell the teacher they forgot to assign anything.
Being a leader would require smarts and tough decision making. Elizabeth Starry and Landon Pestrue were voted to take on the big role of being a future president.
When that class drags on and on while you watch the clock tick down, having a distraction sometimes makes it more bearable. Bethany Bowerman and Sawyer Wonch are the class clowns of the class. Bowermaid said, “I do think I’m pretty funny, but I never thought about it until it was brought up. You never realize the things you say or do until someone brings it up. I think every election I won fits me as a person, though!”
When a day seems down, sometimes someone’s smile lights up the room. Seniors Kerregan Wilson and Colin Kuhn have been voted for the best smile of the grade.
With match-o-matics being released as well as high school being prime time for high school sweethearts, the class believes Zoey Clarke and Sawyer Wonch are the couple that should’ve been.
With the topic of couples, the class agreed that Lauren Devine as well as Easton Seleski are the biggest flirts of the class of 2025.
All high school students wish to drive, maybe some shouldn’t be behind the wheel. Kaydence Heiden and Keirnan Hougaboom have been voted worst drivers.
Everyone is in a hurry to grow up. Soccer mom Brynn Saxton and BBQ dad Trenton Farkas fit the roles perfectly as seen by the votes.
Reese Horton and Dillon Downs are fashionably late, but seem to always be worth the long wait when or if they actually attend that day.
With art being a big aspect of the world, Kaya Munoz and Bryan Wing will have the perfect opportunity to show off their skills, being voted as the best artists.
There’s also many sports out in the world. The best athletes as voted by the group, Kerregan Wilson and Colin Kuhn, are sure to dominate the fields. Kuhn said, “I think this is accurate to me as a person. I’ve done two sports: cross country and wrestling.”
Fashion statements in high school are always a big deal. The effort of Morgan Leonard and Kiernan Hougaboom hasn’t gone unnoticed as they were voted as having the best fashion.
Recently, a big part of a high schoolers life is how they present themselves on social media. Lauren Devine and Bryan Wing put in the most effort that went noticed and earned them the vote for social media star.
Friendship is always celebrated. Zoey Clarke and Annie Breen were voted as “besties for the resties.”
That’s not to say guys can’t be friends. With the biggest bromance of the school seniors Jayden DuBois-Kleinhans and Blake Ferman.
The final day for the seniors is rapidly approaching making the mock elections a staple of their memories. It will soon be time for them to move on into the real world, this being a reflection of their SLHS memories for years to come.
