Here at St. Louis High School, we have a lot of wise students who have bright futures ahead of them. As kids, most people wanted to be princesses, princes, doctors, astronauts or even take on the roles of the teachers. There are many things one can educate other peers on such as math, science, english, history, art, and much more. Being a teacher does involve a lot of work, but it can be really fun teaching a class and being in charge of the students with a plan.
One student who plans to teach is junior Lillian Billings. Billings said “If I could choose a grade to teach, I would definitely teach first grade because I get to be hands-on with them at vocational. I would definitely have a behavior system because kids like to get out of hand a lot and a good reward system because my students now love it!” Additionally, Billings thinks she would run an art club because she loves painting and doing crafts .
“If I was a teacher I would want to teach art or any creative class because I enjoy creating things as well as coloring. I would like to teach 3rd through 5th grade. Though I’m not really picky, I would like to teach those grades because the kids are not too little but not big. It just seems really easy to me,” said junior Abigail McCulley. McCulley said she would have the basic rules, “be respectful, responsible and safe, as well as keep your hands and feet to yourself and if you have nothing nice to say don’t say it.” She would run an art club for any kid in elementary school mainly because she enjoys teaching about art. “I’d love to make other kids fall in love with art,” she said.
“If I was a teacher I would teach support like Mr. Miller and Mrs. Snyder. They are both really good teachers,” said junior Harlee Dowd. Dowd said that even though she is not sure which one she’d want to teach, she loves how she can get her work due on time for them. She doesn’t think she would run a club unless it strikes her interest enough to take over that club.
“I would like to be an art teacher because doing art is fun. I believe it should be in all schools. I love doing pottery, painting, and drawing. Anything art has to offer, I’m really in. I would teach any grade,”said sophomore Khloe Carr. The rules Carr would choose for her classroom is to be respectful, have fun, as well as don’t misuse your resources and tools. If Carr ran a club, it would be art related. She also said she would love to intellectually speak out about how prodigious art is.
A lot of students would probably love to be in charge of a classroom or even would like to know what others would do and now you know. Not much has changed with the rules in the classrooms, but a lot of other things about each of their classrooms would be different and maybe even fun to have contributed to students’ own classes.
