The St. Louis varsity girls basketball team was home Friday, Feb. 21, to take on Ogemaw Heights. The girls played a good game and fought hard, ending the night with a win. By the final score of 32-22.
Junior Halle Hoyt stated, “I think the game went okay. At this point in the season, we just have to win, and that is what we did. As a team, I think we could have done better but we got the win which is important. We can improve more on our defense and we will be fine.” Hoyt also added, “Personally, I did okay. It wasn’t my best game or my worst game I have played. I could improve on my shooting so I can score more in the games.”
Also, sophomore Grace Devine commented, “The game was not our best game that we have played this season. I think the team got really tired as the game went on. The team could overall improve on having a positive mindset and not giving up and get down on yourself when we mess up.” She also said, “I did not play that much during this game, so there is nothing that I could notice to improve on from that game.”
Overall, the season is coming to an end with one more regular season game left at home. The girls are working hard and clearly all agree that they could have done better during this game but won’t give up. The team is ready for their next game Tuesday, Fed. 25, at home for senior night. This game is a JPC crossover game and the opponent depends on how the other half of the JPC finishes.
