The Anticipation for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 has finally paid off! January 28 was a big day for COD fans with the release of a new Zombies map, weapons, operators, operator skins, and an entirely new season.
The new Zombies map, The Tomb, has been teased for quite some time and now that it has been released, fans are going crazy. The map features fan-favorite features like the Origins Ice Staff, which fans voted to be readded in the new map, and points of interest that resemble iconic settings from previous games. Blake Ferman, a Call of Duty enthusiast claims that, “The new zombies map is my favorite out of all of the zombies maps in Black Ops 6 so far. I think the design of the map is very simple compared to the other ones we have. However, it’s by far the best-looking. The contrast between the desert of spawn and the slurry of colors in the Dark Aether area is cool, and the high amount of special and elite zombies gives the map endless fun.”
Along with a new season obviously, comes brand new operators and operator skins. The battle pass for the new season contains brand new operators in the form of Nocturn and Vortex which have a ninja theme to the two. As well as the new operators, players received brand new skins for Weaver, Toro, and Bayan. With each skin and operator, also comes a Blackcell version of each. Ferman stated, “I think the skins style this season is better than what we had in season one, especially with the Blackcell variants.”
The new weapons introduced in season two are unfortunately rather bland, not adding much to the overall meta in Multiplayer or Warzone. Senior Billy Campbell stated, “I don’t like the guns they added. Most of them are seven-hit kills or higher making them much worse than some of the other three-hit kill weapons in the meta currently.”
Players are excited to see where the game goes from here and anticipation for the mid-season update is already building up with teases of future additions to all game modes.
