Recently in Michigan, the weather has fluctuated over the past few days, and the change has affected the students of the Shark Tank in different ways. Whether that be in sickness or in delays or snow days, the students have their own thoughts on the everchanging weather.
With the weather changing, so do the road conditions. It can be fog one day, then ice the next. The rapid changes can pose to be dangerous for many, especially for the Sharks who get by day to day by driving in the conditions. One of these drivers is senior Kaydence Heiden. Heiden said, “Sometimes the weather gets in the way, especially on the days I have practice or games. It can be irritating to not know if games will be cancelled or if I feel safe driving through such conditions. Some days when it’s super cold, I’m definitely thankful I have my licence for when the days are too cold to walk.”
Yet what about the Sharks who don’t drive, but walk to get around for lunch or go to nearby stores? Some prefer to get exercise and walk for lunch to their favorite place. One of these many people is senior Kailee Reese. Without the option of driving, walking is the next best thing, even if it tends to take longer than normal. Reese said, “I don’t really like the snow. I’ve never been a fan of the snow. I don’t drive during school lunch, yet sometimes I wish I would do that whenever the air gets cold. I can drive, but I choose not to do so during school hours.”
No matter what, the weather changes affect everyone even if options vary. The fluctuation of weather is most prominent during the colder seasons, like December through February, before it begins to fade off into warmer weather around March and April. While the weather will continue to change quickly, the warmer temperatures will soon be here and the students of St. Louis High School will have to worry about the spring rains and floods instead of the cold weather.
