St. Louis JV Bowlers went head-to-head with each other!? The match at Riverwood on Tuesday, January 15th was the first match St. Louis A and St. Louis B went against each other in their division. The game was very close with players scoring within 10 pins of each other.
In the beginning, players like Bryan Wing and Bradynn Overla played against each other in the 5th frame, scoring high pins for their respective teams. By the end of the first baker, St. Louis A had scored 112 pins, and St. Louis B scored 100 pins, giving St. Louis B 5 points. For the second Baker, both teams scored the same pins, giving team B another 5 points.
The Petersons were where the teams were closest against each other. The first Peterson gave St. Louis B the victory with 4 out of the 5 players scoring more pins than team B. During that game freshman player Ainsley McConkie scored her highest pin count at 117! However, during the second Peterson, team B couldn’t keep their streak up and only one out of the five players was able to score more pins than team A. Team A player Derrick Dill scored his highest score to date at 171 pins!
Because of the Baker wins and the single Peterson win, JV team A walked away with the win. Team A player Jayden Dubois-Kleinhans stated, “The match felt like practice with the other team, I just gotta have some fun with my friends.” He also stated that he, “Had a rough start to the match but later on, I got better. It resulted in my highest score to date of 135 pins, so I feel pretty good about it now.” Another winning player, Benjamin Godfrey, shared the same sentiment stating, “I just got to have a lot of fun with my teammates and friends!”
The match was great for the teams to help each other improve and show the strengths and weaknesses of each member. Both teams are excited for the future and can’t wait for the next match at Riverwood on the 21st of January.
