The Saint Louis varsity girls’ basketball team was home against Bullock Creek Tuesday, Jan. 14. Their hard work helped them earn the win, with the final being 24-16. The basketball team then traveled to Pinconning Thursday, Jan. 16, ending the night with another win 31-52.
Sophomore Paige Luneack said, “Overall, I think the game went well, one of the closest scoring games we’ve had this season. Also, I think the team played great. We just have to work on the simple things to clean-up in the following games.” Luneack then added, “I hope to see us talking more on the court and for us to just continue to keep working as a team and to have fun in the upcoming games.”
Another player, junior Halle Hoyt, commented, “I would say the game went okay. I’m glad we won. I just think that we could run our plays better for the upcoming games, but other than that I think we are fine.” She then stated, “I think the team is playing good together. We’ve definitely improved a lot. We just gotta keep working hard and we will be fine.”
Also, sophomore Ashleigh Devine said, “I think the game went okay. A win is a win, but we could have done better. I think that we could definitely improve by talking more and playing the plays better.” Devine also added, “I think the team plays well together and connects on the court, but we have to work on cleaning up simple stuff for the next upcoming games.”
Overall, it would be safe to say that the team is doing good and definitely improving each and every game. They all work hard and great together on the court and are ready to take on the next upcoming games. Their next game is Tuesday Jan, 21, home against Meridian.
