The Saint Louis Girls Basketball team defended their home court against the Harrison Hornets Thursday, Jan. 10 by routing the visitors 48-38
After a hard-fought game, the Sharks emerged victorious with a staggering ten-point lead, and had a final score of 48 to 38. Senior Zoey Clarke led the team with 14 points and five rebounds while junior Halle Hoyt had seven rebounds, eight assists, and eight points. Senior Kerregan Wilson had 10 points and five rebounds and sophomore Paige Luneack had 12 points and four rebounds.
Coach Knauf commented, “Harrison was one of the games that we played better offensively, but we need to improve on the defensive side.”
It seems that Wilson also shared similar thoughts as coach Knauf. She said, “I think I performed well last night, and I think the team did too. I think we need to improve on defense still because sometimes games are rough, and others aren’t; it just depends on how quick the team is.”
Clarke, who is optimistic about fixing her mistakes, stated, “I feel as if individually I played aggressive, but there is always room for improvements. Some things I wish I could have done better was finishing my shots. I need to be even more aggressive while shooting the ball and draw some fouls.”
Although there are plenty of things to improve upon, the lady Sharks still came out with a great win against the Harrison Hornets.
