Hit Game Marvel Rivals is coming out with its first Season.
The free-to-play superhero team-based player vs player shooter launched Dec. 6, 2025, via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. Recently, the first season of this game was released on Jan. 10, 2025. This season includes four new characters, one new map and one new game mode.
Whereas the season 0 theme for Marvel Rivals was rather broad and just explained why the heroes were facing off in the game, the season one theme is more focused and delves into the underappreciated comics this time around. Dracula is the main antagonist of Marvel Rivals season one, as he seeks to take over the world by putting it under an endless night which will let him avoid the sun. This season also introduces the main protagonists of this story, the Fantastic Four, who are the new playable characters released in this season as they plan to stop Dracula and save the world.
Students at St. Louis High School are very happy with this update. Junior Aidan Sprague stated, “Overall, the game is genuinely fun, especially with friends, and you can pick your favorite hero and just play as them. This season has added a lot of new things, and they are very fun and different from your normal team first-person shooter.”
Junior Skylar DuBois-Kleinhans stated, “As a very new player to Marvel rivals, I found the game very welcoming especially with this new update. The game feels like a breath of fresh air compared to other shooter games and this update made it even better. I love the new characters and I’m excited to see what else gets added later down the line.”
