The St. Louis boys’ varsity bowling team traveled to Midland for a match against Shepherd Wednesday, Jan. 8. They tried their best, but sadly fell short to the Shepherd Blue Jays with the final score being 26-4.
Senior Michael Mitchell said, “I think I did pretty good personally. There are some things I could work on for the next match like improving on picking up my spares.” He also said, “I think the team overall did pretty well. They tried their best. Although, I think that we all could improve on our spares for the matches coming up.”
Another bowler, junior Harley Mader said, “For me personally, I bowled pretty average. I did have some struggles, but I picked it back up and finished the match. I think I could improve on staying focused and figuring out what I am doing wrong and try to fix it.” Mader also added, “I think the team could have done better during this match. It wasn’t our best one. There are some things that our team needs to work on before our next match.”
Also, senior Branden Dill stated, “I think I bowled really well, during this match I bowled my PR 178. Although there are some things I need to improve on like figuring out my spares and my approach.” Dill then stated, “The team did good overall but there are definitely things we need to work on. We need to improve on picking up the spares for sure for next-up matches.”
Overall, the bowlers are happy where they are at personally, but all agree on things they need to work on as a team. Their next match is traveling back to Midland Saturday, Jan.11.
