Saint Louis High School hosted Christmas Spirit Week starting Dec. 16, 2024. It consisted of the normal five days leading up to the final Christmas assembly day Dec. 20. Monday was Twas the Night Before Christmas, where students wore their comfiest PJs or slippers to school. Tuesday was Team Tuesday, where students dressed in their favorite jersey, hat, or other gear. Wednesday was Whoville Day, where students dressed as their favorite character from the Grinch movie. Thursday was Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, where students dressed as their favorite holiday song, character, or even just made up their own. Finally, Friday was Baby It’s Cold Outside, where students wore their ugliest sweaters for the ugly sweater competition! In addition to the spirit days, Friday was also an assembly day, where games were played and students spent the afternoon getting into the holiday spirit before break.
“I’m excited about the raffle tickets and the ugly sweater competition. If I could add my own day, I would do a Polar Express day, where we would hand out hot chocolate in class and watch the movie,” said sophomore Lilyana Wing. “I plan on participating in this week’s events because I have to help set them up and plan them. I’m very excited to be setting up the assembly and assisting people in playing the games.”
“Out of all of the spirit days, the thing I was most excited for is the Christmas assembly because this is our first year with a new student council advisor and we hoped the assembly would go perfectly fine,” said junior Skylar DuBois-Kleinhans. “I’m not really a big event planner because I have no ideas, but if I were to include an event in this spirit week, probably something winter wonderland themed. There’s a total of five spirit days. I am only participating in one because I have nothing related to the days, I have no motivation to do so, and I don’t want to. I am only participating in PJ day and every other day is whatever.”
