You hear a loud crash from the next room over, you go to check it out only to see shattered glass all over the floor; standing in the middle of the pile of shards is a six foot tall white and black clown covered from head to toe in blood, all you can feel is terror. Terrifier 3 is the newest installment in the Art the Clown line of horror movies. Released on Oct. 11, 2024, the movie made waves on social media.
The Terrifier movie franchise is known for their over-the-top kills and accuracy to the murder sequences. According to eyewitnesses, at the world premiere, “About 16 people left throwing up after 15 minutes into the movie.” Horror movies have never been for those with a weak stomach, but even the most adamant horror movie fans couldn’t handle some of the scares in the new movie.
After watching Terrifier 3, students say that the movie has a lackluster story but the kills make up for the downs in the story. Sophomore Elliot Turner commented that she thinks, “It’s so interesting that they use real murder cases from real life and other movies as references for the kills that occur in the movie.” For example, in the third movie there are kills inspired by the movie Psycho, an Alfred Hitchcock classic movie.
Other students at St. Louis High School say that the movie was really gorey. For example, Senior Blake Ferman said, “The gore in the kills was wild. It takes the gore from the first two films and cranks it up to an 11.”
Terrifier might have been the goriest and scariest movie of the year 2024. Students at SLHS and the rest of the world couldn’t keep their eyes on the screen the whole time because of the scenes within the movie.
