The marching band traveled to each of the St. Louis public schools early in the morning, Oct. 21, before later traveling to Alma High School to play in the Glow Up Show!
During the morning, the band went to Carrie Knause, Nikkari, and finally, T.S. Nurnberger Middle School. At each school, they performed the show, “Journey’s Biggest Hits”, and made it enjoyable for everyone to watch. Later, they played the same set at the Glow Up show. This show was the last one of the season, and they will be back yet again in 2025 with even better songs than the previous ones.
The setlist includes, “Any Way You Want It,” “Don’t Stop Believing,” and a mashup of “Open Arms,” and “Separate Ways.” Senior soloist Rebekah Ross, a trumpet member, stated, “It felt amazing to be “glown” up! I was really nervous at first that I wouldn’t be able to see anything, but it was actually a lot easier than I thought! I think it helped make everything look cooler and overall, better. I think this is my favorite performance besides Alma College because we got to compete and show off to everyone. Also, I got to represent the band which is pretty awesome.”
Senior soloist Elliot Carter said, “I was really nervous. My biggest fear was messing up my notes especially because this is my last marching band performance as a senior. I really enjoyed the night though. It was so colorful, and fun and I am so happy that this marching band season ended with a spark.”
These performances have concluded the marching band season, but sadly, it will be the last for the seniors. The band will drift into the concert season, with their first concert being the Christmas concert.

A beautiful performance by SLHS Marching Band! All of the schools were wonderful. I’m a St.Louis alumni and my Grandson Blake Ferman is in the marching Band. Proud of them all.
