Popular influencer KSI released a song Oct. 3 that has since gone viral titled “Thick Of It,” and it took the internet by storm.
Many people dislike KSI’s song due to the song’s “generic” nature. In fact, many internet trolls have used the song to make cringy videos across multiple social media platforms. People compare KSI’s song to a Disney or Kidz Bop song and that the lyrics are soft and don’t have much meaning.
As for students like senior Justin Rodriguez, he particularly enjoys KSI’s new song. He said, “KSI’s new song is probably one of the best songs I have ever heard. The song describes his life situations and what he does.”
On the other hand, students like junior Parker Wonch feel like KSI’s song had potential but was instead ruined. Wonch stated, “I think KSI’s new song is trash, first of all. He had a star rapper, Trippy Red, and still managed to ruin it. In my opinion, if he had removed the line ‘from the screen to the ring to the pen to the king’ it would have been a little better.”
There are also students like Brynn Saxton who don’t like KSI’s song just because of how overplayed it is. Saxton said, “I personally don’t like ‘Thick Of It’ because of how overplayed it is. I feel like it does not deserve all the hype it has, and there are way better songs out there.”
Overall, there are mixed reviews of KSI’s song “Thick Of It” but the majority of them are against the song.
