Everyone loves a good home cooked meal every now and then, and even more so when it’s made by the Shark Tank’s very own woodworking teacher, Mr.Maxwell. Maxwell has been cooking food for his students for years and there has never not been a time when the student body hasn’t greatly enjoyed these delectable entrees, specifically his smoked mac n cheese.
“To cook for other students… It brings me great joy. I love to feel appreciated. The feeling of hearing my peers thank me for making anything for them brings me immense joy. That’s why I do it. I strive for excellence when I make anything, so students appreciate a good home-cooked meal,” stated Maxwell. He has taken great pride in his skills to cook and provide for many in the student body as well as his fellow teachers. Not only that, but this skill shows others how much he appreciates them, “I was inspired to cook to show my appreciation to people. It is a way for me to be an encouragement to other people,” Maxwell added
When it comes to his cooking, not only does it make him happy to serve, but it makes the students happy to enjoy his hard work, and makes all of his efforts worth it. It is a small change that can leave a lasting impact on someone’s life. Sophomore Aleigha Rogers stated, “I like how he shares his passion of cooking for others. It shows that he can share his passion with the student body and teachers, but also others can show his or her passion with him. I love that he shares the food because many students either don’t eat the school lunch or feel too self conscious about eating in front of others, but being in a secluded area could make eating more enjoyable and comfortable for somebody.”
The food that Maxwell makes is adored by many people in the Shark Tank. Even if some might think it just is not for them, many really appreciate the feeling of enjoying a home cooked meal. Not only does it warm the heart of the students, but it warms the heart of Maxwell to be making a positive impact on the youth of St. Louis High School. Getting thanks for his dedication to the student body and knowing that day they won’t go home with an empty feeling is the feeling Maxwell appreciates most.
