The St. Louis Shark Tooth Woodshop delivered handmade cabinets that they crafted to Schnepp Senior Care & Rehab Center last week. Mr. Maxwell contacted Shnepps when he saw that they were in need of new cabinets for their housing. Maxwell asked Shnepps if the Woodshop could make their residents new cabinets, and they agreed with a price.

Maxwell stated, “We are making a total of 83 cabinets and we just finished and delivered the first 18 of the 83.  We started the project in February of this year, and we plan to finish up the entire project by next February.  As a result of this project and the help of other donors, we were able to buy two CNC ( computing numerical control) machines.”

Adding to that, Izaak Warden said, “So far, making the cabinets has been awesome and really educational. I am glad as part of the woodshop, I can help and make these peoples’ lives better.”

Maxwell also said, “My goal for the woodshop is to prepare people to be ready for a career.  I believe the things we are teaching will prepare our students with the ability to be hard workers and proficient in their understanding of woodworking.”

All in all, the Shark Tooth Woodshop is a great place for students to build character, make friends, and learn how to work hard while creating things they can be proud of. Maxwell hopes that once they are finished with that project, more company’s will contact him for the Woodshop’s creative builds.
