Here at St. Louis High School, there are many opinionated students, especially when it comes to Halloween costumes. Over the years, there have been many random, wacky costumes of different designs and sizes, and the students this year don’t plan to disappoint.
Freshman Annabelle Godfrey stated, “The best Halloween costume is an inflatable dino because it is funny and looks cool. I am thinking of being a cop because that’s what I wanted to do when I was younger.” She also said, “My general idea of Halloween is to have fun and do a little bit of stuff you wouldn’t do on a normal day.”
Sophomore Lilyana Wing stated, “I think either horrifying costumes or hilarious costumes because they always look cool. I’m thinking about wearing a grinch costume because he’s awesome, and it’d be cool to wear a Christmas character for Halloween.” She also said, “I think Halloween is fun but overwhelming because it’s fun to dress up but annoying to go to a lot of houses. I think it’s nice to stay home and watch scary movies with popcorn and candy. It sucks when it’s on a school night.”
Junior Benjamin Godfrey stated, “I don’t know if there is a best costume design, but I like the huge robot ones because they look cool. I’m going to go as Batman because I think he’s cool.” He also said, “I think Halloween is mostly about being able to dress up with friends and going out to do something.”
Senior Rebekah Ross stated, “I have seen some pretty awesome costume ideas. I think my favorites are the people who go all out on their instruments. I usually dress up like a cowboy because I have everything, but this year, I want to convince Mr. Lawhorne to dress up like Gru from Despicable Me and have all the band kids dress like minions. It would be super fun, and it reminds me of the video we made last year during marching band.” She also said, “My general idea of Halloween is watching movies like Hocus Pocus or Nightmare Before Christmas while eating candy.”
