Students and staff at Saint Louis High School are getting their “spook” on for this Halloween season.
Halloween is a time of year filled with excitement, creativity, and a touch of spookiness. Whether it’s making/buying the perfect costume, decorating your home with seasonal decorations, or watching marathon after marathon of different horror movies. There are countless ways to make the most of this festive season. Let’s explore some of SLHS’s best ways to spend Halloween during this season.
“I’m excited for the fall festival, picking out pumpkins during the fall season, and having cute hang outs with my friends,” stated sophomore Hudsyn Humble. “Even though I plan on just hanging out with friends during Halloween, it’s very fun and enjoyable. I love dressing up and showing my Halloween spirit no matter how old I am.”
Junior Lillian Billings stated, “I love Halloween because it’s just so fun. I plan to go to some haunted house with friends and just have a good time with the kids at their elementary school when I go over to teach. I love to decorate and drive around and see other people’s decorations on their house as well as decorating my own room. My favorite thing to do this season involves getting pumpkins and mums. They are just so pretty and the cooler weather is perfect for wearing flannels. I love to carve pumpkins with my family and spend some time hunting with them. I cannot wait for rifle season.”
SLHS staff members also have their own way of spending time out of the classroom and with their families. For instance, Mrs. Schutt stated, “I like visiting places like Uncle John’s Cider Mill and Leaman’s Green AppleBarn with my family during the fall. I like putting up decorations at my house and carving pumpkins with my kids. We also love Halloween movies, pizza, and ice cream on Friday nights in October. This Halloween, we will all be dressed up as Five Nights at Freddy’s characters and go trick or treating with family. Every year I look forward to my nephew’s birthday/Halloween party. This fall, besides my family time, I am excited about comfortable sweaters, cute boots, and pumpkin-flavored everything! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. To me, it is about self-expression, community involvement, and having fun for all ages!”
