The St. Louis varsity girls’ golf team hosted an invite. Oct. 1. With seven schools from the Jack Pine conference. The girls all tried their best all afternoon in good and bad weather.
Head coach Andrea Biehl said, “The girls golfed all afternoon in the rain without complaining, so I was proud of them for that. I was also proud that the girls’ scores have improved from the beginning of the season to now.” She also added, “Golf regionals are Monday, Oct. 7.”
One of the golfers, Grace Devine said, “I think we all did very well as a team despite the not so good weather that we had to golf in.” Devine added, “This year was more of a learning year with all of our seniors we lost last year. Next year we should do better as a team and individually since we will have most of everyone’s firsts out of the way.”
Another golfer, Devine Francisco said, “I think the team needs a lot of improvement with our scores, and that we need to get better at communicating with each other and the people we are golfing with.” She added, “We didn’t do as well as we should have, and I think that we have the potential to be better.”
Overall, the SLHS varsity girls golf team tried their best and are going to try to improve. They are going to compete in regionals Monday, Oct. 7.
